Tab4-7" SM-T230NU.
Trying to connect it to a Tascam DP-004 Pocket Studio audio recorder via its mini-USB port.
I'm using a micro-USB to USB-A female adapter from the Tab4, connected to a USB-A to mini-USB cable. Creating basically a Micro-USB to mini-USB cable.
However, the Tab4 doesn't see the Tascam or its storage but if I plug either into the desktop computer all works as expected.
I've tried a few file explorer apps from the Google Play Store with no joy.
Is there an app out there that's smart enough to see the connected device? Or do I need a device driver that no one's written yet?
I will have to ring out the cable to make sure that I don't have a swapped data pinout problem.
Why am I trying to do this?
I record sermons on Sunday at our church with the Tascam. But, it needs a real computer to extract the message from the Tascam's storage - it's not smart enough to load the data onto a USB connected memory stick. So, I have to drag it home every time to edit, distribute and archive the message then take it back to church the following Sunday. It would be so much more convenient to use the Tab4 as a smart envelope to transport the message home.
Thanks for any help, Stan
