this is my suggestion as well...

for a lot of people the iPhone is the right choice...i for one have an iPad2...and i LOVE it...wouldn't trade it for any Android tablet...if someone wanted to give me an iPad3 (New iPad, whatever they want to call it) in exchange, sure id love the new screen...but thats it...

personally i dont think there is anything wrong with the iPhone...i prefer android because im a tinkerer...but when people ask me what they like better i like to chat with them about their needs...and honestly...with most people we decide the iPhone is probably the right choice...

I love my SIII, but sadly not everyone is as geeky-cool as us android folk.

Love the girl for the girl, not her choice of os.
 
I have to agree with the others, though you should indeed make sure the iPhone is the correct phone as well.

To get an Android phone, she should be "Computer literate". If she asks you questions like "How do I print?", you should either get her an iPhone, or even steer here away from smart phones altogether.

However, if you ask her to open her appdata folder, and she can do this ( even if she has to look it up on the web )...Android for sure.

That being said, I have to reiterate: If she wants an iPhone just because she wants an iPhone...you're best off just going along with it for now, and later if she wants more from a phone...get her an Android then. In fact, it's very possible that just during her initial 2 weeks as she compares her iPhone to your SGS3, she may want to change to the S3. If it's early enough you should be able to take it back for a full refund and just the S3 for her. ( If you go to Best Buy they are always 30 days for returns. )

Your woman has an Iphone too?! Mine too! Ahaha


To make it worse, wifey has an Iphone 4, oldest daughter has an Iphone 3, and the youngest daughter has an ipod touch. Her parents have iphones and ipads,and her sister has an Iphone and an ipad.
 
Buy her S3 as a gift, and give it on her bhirtday or other special day. She can't resist. How do I know? I Experience:)
 
As mentioned, phone choice is down to the individual and what suits them best. Don't force the issue.

If you go out in a group and are embarrassed your girlfriend has an iphone, don't stress it. You had nothing to do with the decision so it's not a reflection on you ;)
 
Indeed let her choose. Or tell her that with android she can see where you are at any time using Latitude. Perhaps she won't be able to resist checking where you are every waking moment :P Or perhaps you need to rethink it :P heh
 
Yeah let her choose. When I had my first Android 2.3 she HATED my phone. It was way too confusing and simple tasks where very difficult for her. She had an iPod Touch at the time and liked it so naturally she went to an iPhone for her smartphone and loves that. I like both platforms, but I will admit iOS can make some tasks a lot more simple if you don't care to tweak or be a power user with tons of options.
 
My wife says to figure out what she's into, what she likes and then show her all the Android apps that are available that don't exist on iPhone.

(I'll add that if she sees it, she'll say, "whooooo...I want that!")
 
I actually wanted my wife to get an iPhone, so i wouldnt have to spend so much time teaching her a different interface lol ( my own laziness) but after going to look at them and playing around with the various phones, she chose Android on her own.

Just don't try this at an Apple store tho (talk about a weird place.. But that's a whole other subject)!
