Help Trying to transfer music files "write protected"

Proper158

Newbie
Greetings everyone, I'm new to the forums and so far it's been a big help in setting up my new Samsung Galaxy note (Iphone 4s convert).

My issue is that I was able to transfer some files to my micro sd card via usb cable to the Note. The transfer stopped and I figured it was because of the screen lock. When I tried to delete the existing folders I get this error:

"Cannot delete Minsitry of Sound : The storage is write-protected. Remove the write-protection and try again."

I'm not sure what I did to change the status of the microsd in the phone. I haven't tried taking it out because I'd rather use the USB cable since I'll have to transfer quite frequently. I turned off bluetooth (just got a pair of new headphones and thought maybe it's having issues with the bluetooth on my laptop).

I'm running Windows 7, on an Alienware M11x r3. I get the image that the two devices are communicating.

Thanks again for your help.

Figured it out, the note went into power saving mode even though it was plugged in. A quick reboot and charging it above 40% solved this issue.
