Trying to Use Freading App

My wife is trying to download a gardening book from her local library using the freading app. I downloaded the app to her tablet but all it has is the user guide on it. According to the user guide I should have a menu button among others things at the top of my screen but I don't so I can't navigate at all. In talking to a Asus rep. He said she needed to download Abobe Digital Edition to her desktop computer and then transfer the book over to the tablet. I cannot figure out how to do it. Any help?

That app has not got a very good rating. People report that it is very buggy. In reality I suspect it probably needs Adobe Reader to work. You should already have Adobe Reader on your Tablet, but if you haven't you can download it from the Play Store.

But before doing that I suggest you delete the Freading app altogether and try downloading and installing it again.

Also have a look at the detailed description for Freading in Play Store, which sets out how it is used. As I understand it you have to download the book first via your web browser using the library's website, into this app (not sure how!). It says it uses Adobe ID for authentication. I have never heard of that before.
