Help Trying to view text messages from previous kies backups

I am fairly sure that at one point when I did backups on my phone to the PC, that I was able to go in and look at the text messages. Is there a way I can do this? I had no clue you couldn't (support agent just told me it isn't possible)

So I have these 5 backup folders on my pc with all the data from the phone, but no way to look at the text messages.
 
Well I guess I'm confused on that part. With so many backups, wouldn't that just flood my phone? I think the limit is only 200 at a time right? If I send these back to the phone (which i'm not sure you can just upload messages or not) it seems it will be pretty difficult to manage all this.

Anyone know of some sort of app for store text messages that is good?
 
This is exactly what I'm looking for. It even lets me choose the exact conversation I'm wanting to back up. Unfortunately, the email does come to my hotmail, but no attachment! Makes it kinda pointless :( Not sure what I'm doing wrong, because the app does have that string of text when I hit view :(

You can just back them up to your phone or sdcard and transfer them to your PC.
 
Thanks svim and madbat. I finally figured it out where to find the xml file from sms when transferring from Kies :)

This is perfect.
