Turbo to iPhone 5S

A few things ...
Was the Turbo ever root-ed?
What do you mean by "crapped out"? Is it correctable?
If you are going to move the SIM card I would suggest going to the Verizon store you deal with and coordinate with them. I had a Turbo and when I got a Turbo 2 from Moto Maker the Verizon Corporate store in my area had me move the SIM card from the Turbo to the Turbo 2. The Verizon Wireless store in my area that I usually deal with thought that was incredible and they have a policy of inserting a new SIM card and activating it and deactivating the old one.
It comes down to what approach the Verizon store of your choice has. (My moved card was a constant source of confusion.)

Yes, as long as the SIM card is good AND the iPhone 5s was a Verizon iPhone 5s, you can put the SIM from the Turbo into the 5s and it will work.
See http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/iphone/iphone-faq/differences-between-iphone-5s-models.html as well as http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/ to look up the iPhone 5s by serial number to see if it supports Verizon.
But, as Thom said, if you run into trouble you can get the Verizon store to activate a new SIM for the iPhone 5s (IF it is a Verizon iPhone 5s).
