turn data off when in another country

Hi all,

ill be be taking my phone out of my home country for xmas, and want to make sure my phone doesn't use any of my data plans and leave me with a huge bill.

Whats the best way to turn this off? I would like to use whatsapp through wifi if thats possible, then pick up sms/missed calls when i return back home.

Settings - wireless & networks - Mobile networks - untick "data roaming". That'll stop data usage but allow sms and calls.

If you don't want anything coming through, just stick it in Airplane mode.

Leave your SIM at home and buy a SIM native to the country your in! By far the easiest and cheapest way.
