Hello,
I'm planning a pretty extensive backcountry hike in the next few days and I think I'm going to ditch my GPS/Camera for the Droid. I found this Goal 0 Nomad solar charger that seems to work pretty good for charging... I think I may have a shot at a permanent replacement.
That leads to me to need to maximize my battery life. I'll use airplane mode
to turn off any radios (BT, WiFi, Cell) and use off-line map mode while I track my progress using EveryTrail. Is there a better (more thorough) way to disable radio?
Testing it out this past weekend, I seem to have been able to completely nix any cell standy by or radio related processes. Is there anything else I can 'kill'? What about widgets? They seem to take up battery under com.htc.launcher. Is it worth it to get ride of them? The only thing I need is the GPS tracks and the camera/camcorder.
