Help Turn off default slide unlock screen method?

I would like to switch off the SE slide lock screen and just keep the android pattern screen lock method. Is it possible to turn of the slide lock screen?

theres a app that does it but it also unlocks your pattern lock method and its very buggy. its called my lock

I searched, and only came across threads asking the same question, without any clear answer. The only real answer I saw was that some specific lockscreen apps disable the default lockscreen automatically when installed. Flyscreen does not.

Perhaps you can actually try to be a nice person and point us in the right direction with a link to an answer? Or even [gasp] type an answer out yourself?

i have tried a few different lock programs but none of them work properly

just ended up going back to the default one

i have just downloaded the GOTO app from the market place

that changes the lock screen and works ok - just see how it performs now
