Help Turn off push notifications

I have several grants that generate push notifications that I do not want. The is not an infant option to turn this off.
On my old S2 I could turn this of in Settings -> Apps.
How can o turn then of in Kit kat?

Most apps have settings within them to turn change notifications. If not, you should actually see a checkbox for "Show Notifications" within the system settings>apps as you mentioned.

Found it on Settings ... Apps show notifications please unchecked and hopefully quiet now
