Help turn off softkey backlight?

I tried the app "LEDs Hack" to turn off the softkeys (home|Menu|Back|Search) backlights but when I use it, Rockplayer stalls after a couple of seconds. Those buttons are distracting when I'm trying to watch a movie in the dark.

Is there any other solution?

I found the solution after contacting the developer of LEDs Hack. I needed to update my SuperUser app. The version I had was called SuperUser Permissions so I had to replace that app first using update.zip which I found on this thread. After that, I was able to go to the market and update to the newest version of Superuser.

With the new version of SuperUser installed, the LEDs Hack app turned off the softkeys and had no negative effects on Rockplayer.

Im trying the same thing on a vibrant. which phone model did you select? I'd love to get this working. Thanks.
