Help Turn on loading screen gone after installing DL09 custom rom?

icon5585

Lurker
I just installed the custom rom (had some issues, but managed to get it on with DL09 update already on) and now I no longer have a loading screen for when I first turn on my phone, is there any way to get one on there?

Thanks!

are you refering to the boot animation?

No prob. That is for the droid X the location is the same but the names of the files are different. I found this: read below from here Samsung Fascinate - Start-up and shut-down leader more or less the same thing

To replace branded Fascinate startup, shutdown animations and sounds to the original unbranded ones, extract this ATTACHEMENT and replace as below:

1 ) in \System\Media\ - replace bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg. These are the bootup animation screens.

2 ) in \System\Media\Video\Shutdown\ - replace all the .png and a .cfg. These are the shutdown screens.

3 ) in \System\Etc\ - replace PowerOn.wav. This is the bootup sound.

and

4 ) in \System\Media\Audio\ui\ - replace shutdown.ogg. This is the shutdown sound.

I found that, even after updating to a newer firmware, our SingTel branded startup & shutdown will revert back to SingTel. So, you'll have to replace everything again.

The thing is i downloaded it, but is there any other way to get it into the right directories without root explorer (as it is $4)? I also noticed that there is a bootanimation.bak file already in there, just wondering why it doesn't use it...

Im sure there are other programs like root explorer. If you search for it on Google you can find it and install it (hint, hint). I think its cause of the rom though, so I'm not sure replacing it will make anything else come up.

you can push them with adb

but really if your in the root crowd the few bucks for root explorer and titanium backup are pretty much essential

Thanks for the heads up, but a quick question, doesn't astro file viewer do what titanium backup does for free?

I don't think you can modify system files. Its used to browse the SD card. The other ones let you change or delete system files and permissions.
