turn phone off

[Android Question]

I have a problem turning my H.T.C. Inspire off. When I press button on top it will not go into Power off or Airplane mode. Thanks...

The switch under that button is probably shot. Take the battery out, put the battery back in and see if you can turn the power on. If you can't (or if the power comes on as soon as you put the battery in, without pressing the button), the switch has to be replaced.
