Help Turn screen back on while talking?

Sometimes during a long conversation, my screen will turn off, but I can still carry on the conversation. However, if I need to check something during the conversation, I can't. Perhaps, I need to check the calendar to tell the caller about something there. Hitting the power button usually wakes up the phone when it's not in use, but during a call, it disconnects the call.

Is there a way to either prevent the screen from turning off during a conversation, or to turn it back on again without disconnecting the call. Thanks.

Normally, if I receive a call when the phone is locked I can answer it and do call related functions. While holding it up to my ear it will go dark, but as soon as I move it away it will come back on. I can hit the power button to turn off the display (not sure if that is the same as locking it when not on a call) and turn it back on without dropping the call. I have had calls that were long, but each time I moved it away from my ear the display came back on to do call functions, like End Call. If I need to interact with the phone I can hit the Home button to get to other apps, in which case the statsu bar at the top will show there is a call in progress. Not sure if I understand exactly what is happening with your phone. I believe the only config change I made was to allow use of the Home button to answer a call, rather than swiping. That was under the Call Settings.

I was just looking at settings and found a check box under Accessibility that says: " The power key ends calls". It looks like your problem is fixed if you uncheck that box. Then I have a question, how do you end the call???? I guess I'll be finding out. LOL

I never would have thought to look there. Just unchecked that box.

When on a call, the screen displays a red "End Call" button. You can hit that.

With the help of Somanyapps, I also discovered that if I move the phone closer to my face and then away again, the screen comes back on.

It's so nice when little bits of info can end major frustrations.
