Yes it will :D You can link unlimited cameras to your account.

You only need to download Cawice on each phones you want to turn as home security camera and login with the same Gmail account. After that, your new cameras will automatically appear in the app on your smartphone

Tried the app this morning. Seemed a little difficult to get it going for some reason, which could have just been me. I have it set up to watch the front entrance area of the house and it worked for a little while and then stopped. I am not sure how to get motion detection to work. I noticed that when my daily phone screen goes dark it disconnects the camera. When I try to reconnect it will sometimes connect and sometimes wont. Any ideas?

Hey Zigman66! :)
  • To activate the Motion Detection, you just need to go to your camera's Settings, set the Sensibility and tap on the Lock button (if it green color, that means the detector is turned ON)
  • If sometimes you cannot init the streaming connection to your camera, it could come from your home WiFi network, as the camera cannot receive the command to start the streaming.
Feel free to contact us at support@cawice.com :)

If it helps I have a Galaxy S4. I could not find a Sensibility setting in the camera settings area.

Actually Alfred sounds like a better sweetable option..

@Xavier Black : Cawice is using Peer-to-peer connection who guarantee the confidentiality of your video stream. Alfred is using their own servers, that means your camera video stream is not truly private as the company can remotely access to it

@Zigman66 : In your camera's Settings, select Motion Detection and you'll can choose the sensibility :)

I have been thru the settings in my phone everywhere I can think of and can not find anything that mentions motion detection at all :(

@Zigman66 : The Settings section of your camera is in Cawice App on your phone*

Ok, now I understand that part. It seems to take a few tries to get it working. The old phone will sit and loop thru the screen that says "open Cawice application on your phone to watch your security camera" until the app successfully conects after trying 2-8 times. Once it does connect it works well for a couple minutes until one of the phones inactivity sensor activates and then it disconnects. How do I keep the connection going?

That happens a lot with all of them..I've tried several..the only one I kept is Alfred..it's a very sweet one..

By the way I gave a try to Cawice..and it says "your device isn't comparable"..well hello!, it's and old phone that is going to serve as a camera..

Any way..I like Alfred..

Hey @Zigman66 :)
If it takes few try to be able to init the streaming, its because the "camera" cannot received the notification to init the Peer2Peer connection. That could happen mostly because of a bad network connection.

Can you specify to me your device model and it Android version? :)

Hey @Xavier Black: Alfred can init a streaming connection faster because it going though a sever. With Peer-to-Peer, as Cawice, both devices need to synchronised first their iP address together before being able to init a streaming connection.

Cawice is compatible with Android 4.4 minimum, as our P2P system required at less this version but we are working on to make it compatible with older version.
Our app is quite new, so all your feedbacks are welcome and help us to improve Cawice in future releases, as you are doing right now, thanks :)

Obviously they are the same phones but the "old" phone has a cracked screen so I just keep it for back-up
