Turning inactive apps active?

My phone, an HTC Wildfire, was running low on ROM space, so I went over to app management to remove some apps. I noticed 2 different Facebook apps, one called Facebook for HTC Sense an another simple called Facebook.

Facebook for HTC Sense doesn't appear in my app drawer as such. Silly question perhaps, but it's just the HTC built-in Facebook app for syncing contact info and stuff?

Also, an app I downloaded called Notes doesnt appear in the 'active apps' tab within app management nor my app drawer. Is there a way to make inactive apps active? The app appears under 'downloaded apps', but I haven't been able to use it thus far.

Please please please do a search before you post. This question has been answered at least 20 times on here.

Facebook is the actual app you use to browse Facebook. Facebook for HTC Sense isn't an app that you can access, but signing into it allows your phone to sync your facebook contacts to your People app, use Friendstream, and do other things like post a picture to facebook directly from the image gallery.

Thx, figured as much with the Facebook apps. Sorry if it had already been aswered. No useful search hits on my other question though.

Anyone can clarify the active-inactive app listing in app management and/or how to activate an inactive app (like my Notes-app)? Tips on cleaning up ROM memory by deleting useless stuff are welcome too.

An important difference is the split between the "system" apps and "downloaded" apps. You see the "downloaded" apps in the Manage Applications section in Settings (Downloaded tab). Both apps appear in "All" tab.
Now, you can only remove those that are in downloaded tab. The system applications can only be removed after rooting your phone.

I know, my last post is somewhat confusing, mixing up two separate issues. I just meant to say that I downloaded a Notes app, but that I haven't been able to use it, because it doesn't show up in the app drawer or the 'active widgets' tab. Hence I assumed it to be an 'inactive' widget.
