Help Turning off 4G

So, I've tried a couple of the apps in the play store and none of them work on the Motion (least anyway, the ones that I've tried don't work). Is there a way of turning off 4G so I can save even more battery on this great battery saving phone. :D I haven't rooted my phone yet, and may not, I don't know for sure yet. I'd like to be able to switch between 4G/3G for battery saving affects. Thank you.
 
Do the Metro PCS phones not have access to the Android settings menu from your home screen? You can turn off 4G from there just by tapping on Data usage and sliding Mobile data to off.

I know about that, but then I don't have any data. I'd like to turn off 4G, and still have access to 3G.
 
Be prepared to save a good amount of battery because that's what turning off your 4g does.
I do however wished someone was able to make a widget to turn off fogee like they did with the cwm widget
