I have a Verizon Droid Bionic and can't see anything that allows me to turn off notifications for e-mails and other items. Is there a secret to doing this for the Bionic?

Turning off all notification sounds

Welcome to android Forums.
If you go to menu>settings>sound you can set all default sounds to silent or none (depending on the options.) If you have any custom notification sounds set, you'll nee to clear them as well. If all you want to do is set everything silent temporarily, you can use a sound widget. It usually toggles between all on, vibrate only and all off.
