Am going to europe, want to use phone for phone and text, but not data unless wifi.

Have done this before with other droids before ICS, but can't find where to turn off data. I go to system settings, but can't find where to turn off just data. (also, if you know how gsm is enabled, if not automatically, pls let me know that as well)

Any help greatly appreciated. thanks.

thanks. wouldn't have looked under data usage, thought that was for statistics. appreciate the quick response

I can help with the GSM. If you are going to buy a local SIM just make sure the phone is in global mode. If you are going to use your VZW SIM then you need to be sure that you have the correct feature on you account before you leave the country. Apparently the international feature allows you to dial international numbers while here in the states but does not provision your phone for international service, which is useless to find out via a Skype call to vzw after you are already out of the country. If your phone isn't provisioned correctly it won't connect to the local networks. You will be able to see the SIDs, but the phone won't connect. The feature you want is pay as you go international data. Don't know why, but it will make your RAZR work overseas. Just be careful to not actually use data because its unbelievably expensive. Of course I could just be misinformed, but I'll leave the feature on the account because its free (as long as I don't use data) and the one time it wasn't on there (the first time, in Haiti) the phone wouldn't work.
