Help Turning off Voicemail

I'm not a big fan of voicemail & recently my S2 has had a couple of voicemail messages without a missed call or even ringing, i've convinced myself it was because it was a bad reception area. Is there any way to cancel the divert to voicemail? I've had a look & the only voicemail setting i can find is to set up the number. Appreciation in advance for any help.

menu>settings>call>call forwarding>forward when busy/unanswered/unreachable

I would leave voice mail on as you will have no indication of a missed call in a poor or no reception area. I would at least like to know and call them back. Why just shut it ff?

i dislike voice mail and if the person wants to get intouch they will ring back or send you a text if you dont answer
