Help Turning VIDEO recording START/STOP sound. Annoying!

Hi guys, this is my first post.

I've been trying to figure out how to turn off the aforementioned sound. There isn't a way!!
The still camera shutter sound CAN be turned off but not the video start/stop sound?!
This is highly problematic for me as I need to be able to record video in classroom without constantly making noise!!
Please help!!!!

Thank you!!

Can't do so without rooting, where you'd also need to flash a certain zip file that achieves r/w access on the system folder, and from there, you go to the media folder, ui folder, and delete the sound file.

Alternatively, instead of doing this, while you're rooted, you can flash any custom roms which by default will not have the sounds.

Thanks for your answer, jujumane! Ughhhhhhh! I was trying to avoid the lengthy rooting process, which I just don't literally have time for... I guess I'm going to have to put it on my schedule now... I wish I knew about this stupid locked sound in this phone before I bought it!

I've never rooted a phone before, and I'm really scared I'm gonna F this up.

With the current rooting methods, there's no way to potentially brick the phone. It does, however, take many attempts. All you'd be losing is time, not your phone.

Took me 20 minutes to root and install twrp.

My ZTE ZMAX (MetroPCS version) is rooted but I still can't altar or change any file in System folder. I gave Root Explorer SuperUser status but still I cant delete the videostart audio file. Running KitKat 4.4

Any ideas?

You have to flash the switcher zip to swap your bootloader & recovery to each other's partitions in order to get system read/write access. (You can flash the restore zip to put them back when you're done.)

I'm so sorry but I'm a total noob at this. You don't know how impressed I was with myself at just getting the phone rooted!

How do I flash switcher zip? And WHERE can I get switcher zip?
Any help would be deeply appreciated -- thanks!

If it helps I have TWRP recovery module.

Instructions and downloadable zip files are in this thread. You want the zip files for Butternoob V2/stock MetroPCS (first 2 downloads in post #3). Read at least the first 2 posts carefully.

Download the "switcher" and "restore" zips, which are flashed using TWRP, to your phone.

Flash the switcher zip when you want to have read/write access in Android. Note: After flashing the switcher zip, you'll need to "reboot to recovery" which will actually boot Android. (If you reboot system, you'll end up in TWRP again.)

After you're done having system r/w access, reboot normally, which will reboot into TWRP. Flash the "restore" zip, then reboot system.

Thank you so much!!
This worked perfectly! Very much appreciate you taking the time to outline it for me:)
