To put it in perspective, Very very
few Android devices come with just stock Android on them (Motorola DROID, Google Nexus family, including the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and a handful of others).
The rest of the OEM manufactured phones have customizations that range from
minor (adding a few apps here and there) to
major (completely re-working the entire phone, including an overlay, a custom dialer app, contacts app, etc.), and distinguishing them is
far from easy.
Add to that that there are literally hundreds of different Android-based phones, and you can see how having a general
Phones section and then again having a
separate set of folders (sub forums) for
each phone in a general tutorial forum will be not only hard to maintain but also nearly impossible to keep track of.
I kinda do like your idea though for a general Android FAQ type section, but it would have to have huge disclaimers in every single post saying something to the effect of:
