Apps tutorials to develop an android application

I'm a beginner in android and I want to achieve an android application for my site and I need some tutorials that can help me.

It would be more helpful if you said what you want the application to do, rather than what it's for... software development, no matter the platform, always starts with this step.

Then you might want to look into something like PhoneGap to display your homepage... might be easier than learning Java just for the sake of creating what is essentially a wrapper.
