Its a really great device, it works perfektly with the USB Dongle inserted in one off the USB Slots.
Keyboard and Trackball works great ! AND: If i hit F8, the Box goes to sleep, the Blue Light is off, only the Red Light shines.
Another hit on F8, tadaaa, the Box is back on Screen.

Meanwhile i have tried to root with Superoneclick, also not working !
I tried with USB Debugging turned on and off, no root possible...

Any other Ideas ?

thanks!, exactly, this is my problem, cant found the stanby icon in bar menu or anythink, but its not possible, should be one, I dont understand

this item how mach expensive is?,

Because my Device is no more reconizing my SD CARD, i set it back via Factory Reset.
And now, i can only start to Recovery Mode, but SD is not reconized. And i even can not press any Key, because the Keyboard is not mounted.

Device says: sdcard not mounted, udisk not mounted !
No Idea what to do. I think i brikked my Android TV BOX ! :(
 
EDIT: try the procedure from the recovery clicking on apply update...

do all the wipe before and then try update...

finally i got it... now remote, sdcard, usb and sata work well like when i have bought the ider...

So ONLY IF YOU HAVE A IDER A10 like mine and like the one at this link Android media player|Android TV BOX|IPTV|google TV|Android SET-TOP-BOX|mid|?ider tech Co.LTD?

BE CAREFUL use ONLY with this box the link below...

Download upgrade steps.rar from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way

1. download this .zip named "upgrades steps"
2. unzip it and you will obtain two other files:
a) c03rdf-ota-eng-rwf.zip
b) uImage_recovery
3. put these two file into sdcard and pendrive
4. with the box on put the sd and the usb (the sd shouldn't works)
4. from the menu select upgrade and find the file c03rdf-ota-eng-rwf.zip in the usb pendrive

5. launch it

box reboots and then should appear the android update progress bar...
!!!don't unplug if it seems to be freeze!!!

wait until upgrade finishes and reboots

if something fails you should see the green "android your TV logo".

if upgrade will be ok you will see a big green android robot after the a9 logo...


now you have your box fully functioning

the only "big" problem is that you don't have google apps (there is only market) and the market should list only few apps, but this kind of issue should be resolved from the producer in next days... (there are a lot of other "way" to find apk files...

i hope this will solve your problem...

Hello again!
Now still stuck in Recovery Mode where the Device cant find my SDCARD and UDISK.

I attached some Photos from my Box and the Recovery Screen.

Is there a chance to update the Firmware from PC via USB ??
I see no other Chance to restore via SDCARD.

And NO, i can not select Apply update or anything other, because Keyboard and Mouse are not recognized at this time.

upload the zip file to the card upgrade.zip
because in such form new firmware must be:confused::confused::confused:

Okay, so I have a similar, but much more generic version of this, my box has no manufacturer's name on it or anything, just a few specs...

according to my box it's an Amlogic box, running the following specs:
1GHZ Cortex A9 AML8726-M CPU
DDRII 512MB RAM, 2GB-32GB Flash
Android 2.3 operating system
Wi-Fi, Ethernet
Full HD 1080P Hardware video decoder
HDMI/VGA/R/L(AUDIO)+CVBS/SPDIF
Support wireless keyboard
SD card slot, up to 32 GB
USB interface, support high capacity mobile hard disk
online video, music and games
support video conference
can connect USB camera

Because I'm a new user I cannot hyperlink but below is a link to the device I have:

Now the device shown is the same, but mine is white, and if the apps shown in the picture are pre-installed, then mine is missing those as well.

The bolded apps are the only ones that I actually have:

Google Market, Gfan Market, Weather, RSS News & Calendar, IE, IM, Mailbox, Video / Audio player, Picture viewer, Text reader & Games, On-line Video/Audio player

The other apps that are included are AppInstaller, Browser, Calculator, Camera, Clock, Downloads, Email, FileBrowser, Flash Player(not sure what version), Mk_bkplay (don't even know what this is), Network (could not figure out how to work this one, just says "scanning" forever), PPPoE (haven't played with this one, just ethernet settings), Search, Settings (of course), Upgrade, Websites (bookmarks), and some Chinese labeled app that I don't know how to read or translate.. nor do I care too... No offense to any Chinese people on this forum...

Now what I need to find is an upgrade that actually allows me to use the remote control and is slightly more stable than the one above. I have two units, one I upgraded, the other I left stock. I also would like to know how to get the firmware back to stock if I need to... Please help.
 
I put "su binary" and "superuser.apk" into the "update.zip", sign it and trying to flash, but have "signature verification failed" problem. Can anyone solve it? I think, what it the singular way to have the root on this device.
 
Well, I got my box off ebay 2 days ago (A9)... and have been experimenting ever since.. tried a few options... found this web site:

On this page there is a root update! which worked for me...
I now have a release I am happy with (can't say which one it is as I tried so many).. It might be the one on the page=7 above – just the update.zip – not the 23 one)..
I had a few close calls with the box saying it could not mount SDCARD but I've managed to update via USB.
So.. as far as my setup is now concerned, I have root access, got root explorer, got NO SDCARD (can live without it – anyone got it going? or know how root access could help me here) and no remote (if anyone can get the original remote.config file I would be most thankful) but again can live without it – logitech dinovo works OK (but need Android release with alternate click via top right corner – thus the update.zip on dealextreme forums) and got an open Market app installed (again included in the update.zip on dealextreme forums) got remote media center going which is the main app I needed.
 
Guys I am looking for support to upgrade my Android TV Box. Bought few days ago from Alibaba.

As I am unable to root this device currently it is running 2.2 and with specific Chinese apps which are not translatable.

I have the box pictured in Post #6. I have successfully upgraded the firmware with ICS 4.0.3 and it solved a lot of issues and works quite good. If anyone is interested, they can contact at stdenis (at) webtech.on.ca and I can upload it to a server. This is my first post so I can't include a link yet.

Hey man i want to buy this device and the seller in ebay said that he will send me the device with ICS.
But i have few questions before i order it.


1.does skype and video chatting work on this?
2.Does it support a usb webcam?

I've heard that ICS will support a webcam, as long as it's a driverless USB model. Unfortunately, I don't have one to test with this unit.
