Twicca App - How Quote Tweet for Reply/Retweet?

Hi Everyone...

Thought I was able to do this in the past but can't seem to do it with current app version.

In the past I thought if I replied or retweeted (RT) a comment, the app would quote the original so that I could add to it or remove words or comment.

Now if I click a tweet and then "reply to selected users" the original tweet is NOT copied, just the "@whoever" and room for my comment...as if I was just sending a new tweet, nothing in response to a specific tweet.

I thought there was an option to "quote" the tweet you were replying to or retweeting but I can't find it.

And if you click a tweet wanting to retweet, the only thing you can do is "send to current follows"...no option to add anything to the retweet.

How does one automatically quote the original tweet when replying or retweeting?? If there is a setting, where is it??

I don't use the app, but just on general principles one long-presses the message of interest, and is either presented with a menu including "copy text" (or some such thing) or else some text is highlighted with adjustable delimiters that one can use to select whatever portion is desired, then touch the "copy icon" which is usually a stylized page. Then, one long-presses into the compose window and a "paste" option is presented.

Perhaps such technique will work for your app.

I do use Twicca and noticed a similar thing.
I think that while you don't get to quote what you're replying to it is expected that others who are interested in the thread can use the option "View conversation" to see what was said by each tweeter.

Thanks for the thought but, unfortunately, with this app, long pressing brings up another window/option specific to this app for the tweet.

Thanks for the reply and that I'm not the only one who has noticed.

I too have used that "view conversation" option to see the thread. Question: is that universal across various Twitter apps to be able to "view conversation" or only for Twicca/certain others that have implemented the option??
