Twitter App

Okay I so I have noticed that there is about five twitter apps..anyone who runs any of the twitter apps Id like to know your experience or if you have tried a few of them the best one to use..Thanks :D

I've tried most of them, and settled on twitter ride. Its pretty, functional, and works well. Twidgit lite is nice if you prefer a widget based app, but its lacks functions. Twidroid has the most functionality,. but i don't think it looks as 'pretty' as twitter ride.

But those are the best free so i'd suggest trying each to see which suits you the best.

I agree. Twitter Ride does have a better ui IMO. I personally use Twidroid Pro, because I have multiple Twitter accounts, and I'm not sure if any other Twitter app allows more than one (if there is one my mistake).

You could also try out Seesmic. It's brand new to Android. I haven't tried it out, but have heard some pretty decent things about it

I actually tried them both out today, twitteroid has allot of functions but I love twitter ride it is user friends I would have to say and so easy to do exactly what you want to right away.:p

Seesmic is pretty basic tbh, might change in the future but it cant stand up to at least twitterride yet.

I forgot to mention Swift, thats similar to twitterride and you may prefer the interface.

Really? Seesmic has been getting so much hype that I figured it would be good. Oh well.

Swift is pretty nice too. It's what I had before switching to Twidroid.

Seesmic is good but now Twidroid has the ability to share, etc. Switched back to Twidroid. Has the most functionality.

i like seesmic because you can have two accounts wit the free app

twidroid you have to buy it to get that function

so i use seesmic and twidroid

seemic for multi accounts
twidroid for trending topics

I like the official client, it looks smart, updates nicely, handles everything I need to do with ease. Tried Seesmic, not for me. Not tried Twidroid yet though.

the official app is nice except two things:

it does not remember your spot in the timeline, so if you miss 65 tweets, you have to start at the top and scroll down to read everything, everytime.

also, b/c it is twitter official, it only allows new style retweets. i gotta have quote style.

i had twidroid for a while. was anyone else ever having issues loading twitpics? it always told me my pic was the wrong file type and would never let me upload from inside the app.

i use seesmic for these reasons. i might twidroid again.

I have started using the official twitter client as soon as a got my 2.1 update a couple of weeks ago and the not-remembering-where-you-are-in the-timeline thing and also the fact that there is no easy way to retweet with a comment....just a retweet were deal breakers for me. There is a work around by going to the "share" option but it was too time consuming. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled Twitroid which I had been using before. The only thing I really liked in the official client was the automatic preview of twitpics. I hope Twitroid adds that soon.

Good to know... I would need something that allows for commenting on RTs.

I used the official client for a bit, but I noticed that it doesn't sync all the tweets, just the past hours.

I made it sync every hour, which worked, but not ideal.

Going to give Seesmic a try, but at the moment it only remembers my last position for a few seconds before it loads everything tweeted after it, then it jumps to the top.

Is there a solution for either of these two problems I'm having with the apps? I'm using a HTC Desire if it helps.

Tweetcaster doesn't get much love, but I agree with everyone.. its all preference.. Tweetcaster works well for my usage and its a clean interface
