Twitter, Facebook & Other Widgets Wont Update

Hi,

Let me start by saying I have trawled these forums but not yet found a conclusive answer to this question. If someone can point me in the right direction that would be great.

Basically I have the Twitter and Facebook widgets on my Samsung Galaxy S2, but they do not seem to update at all. I understand it's not going to be instant because that would kill the battery, but at least every hour or something would be useful.

Is there a way to set this manually? I've been into the settings of each app but can't see anything.
