Help twitter No notifications

I've loaded the twitter application but I'm not getting any notifications. I've checked my settings and it should be working. Very frustrating. Is this a common problem - anybody know how to solve it?

Phone only out of the box 2 days - settings not been changed.

You using the Twitter for Android app? You know, there are many better apps in the market, Twidroyd and Tweetdeck for example.

But i'm unsure why you're not receiving notifications

I've been having the same issue with the twitter app, but I noticed that the "Tweets" under notifications was not selected. Make sure it is selected on your.
