Twitter notification help

MrBret

Lurker
Evening everyone.

I'm using the HTC One X on AT&T.

How do I stop getting both text updates and the notifications on the bar thing at the top of the screen?
I only want ones of them not both.

Thanks

HI MrBret! Welcome to Android Forums! I believe there should be a setting for getting the text updates. It may not be accessible from the app though. Sometimes it requires the full desktop site to get things changed. Or you could look in the settings of the app to see if there is an option for not getting the status bar notifications.

Hi BB

I've looked all the places i can think of but I cant seem to find anything that would stop the notification bar but keep the texts. I dont get the notification bar for all tweets, only a few but I can not see anything different between the people I do get the pop up from & the ones I dont.

I just signed into my twitter on the desktop and it looks like there is an option that you may have enabled - it's in the settings and it's called 'mobile'. If you have your number in there it will send you texts. If that doesn't work I'm at a loss.

I'm ok with settings the texts, I just don't need texts and the notifications that pop up at the top of the screen.
Hmmmmm

OP, what client are you using for Twitter? If you want the device notifications to stop, it's likely just a matter of entering the app's settings and disabling notifications.

Twitter app. The website won't give you notifications.

I've stopped using the official app ages ago, but if there is no notification settings, you can turn of auto-refresh altogether and just refresh when you open the app. You'll still get the SMS that way since its a feature independent of the app.

How do you turn that off?

I have an HTC One X

I can't say if they changed the settings since I last used it, but just go into settings and look for "refresh feed" and uncheck that.
