Help Two notifications for each gmail message

Hellow all,

I just got my razr maxx three days ago and have been playing around with it. I'm having a problem with my gmail though. I have my work email and gmail syncing through the preinstalled email app. In order to get my email, I think I had to sign into gmail - now it seems like I get two notifications for each email to my gmail account (one through the email app, and one through the gmail app).

Is there a way to turn off notices for the gmail app?
 
Agreed, you are getting a notification from the Email and the Gmail app. I had the same issue as well. I actually quit using the Email app and installed K-9 for my work Exchange email as it is just downright better and use the Gmail app for my personal email now. I was one that had issues with the Exchange sync not working after the last update and honestly never worked much on making it work as I like K-9 much better as it will sync all messages in my inbox, not just the last 30 days worth. I keep older emails for quick reference.
 
Thank you! I turned off notifications for the gmail app...I like having both inboxes going to the same app. I am interested in K-9 though, so I may give that a try. I like this phone more and more each day!
