Hi.
I recently bought my 2 and 5 year old daughters Android tablets as I'm a strong believer that the earlier kids get exposed to technology, the less daunting it will be later in life, amazingly the 2 year old is far more proficient than the 5 year old!
The devices are 7" Noza Tec units with the following spec:
RAM: 512M, DDR3
CPU: Allwinner A23 Dual Core 1.5GHz
Internal Memory: 8GB
Operating System: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
Network: 802.11b/g
The issue I'm having is, despite a reliable 40meg fibre connection I could not get both of the to sream even SD video simultaneously. They also slow the entire network when connected to the extent that Google's homepage takes 3 or 4 mins to load! Disconnecting one and leaving the other helps somewhat but doesn't fix the issue as it still seems incredibly slow compared to other android units I've used.
One thing I noticed is that although the MAC and IP addresses are unique, the device name on the network (i.e. android-a7162a045445a738) is identical for both units. Is this a major issue or just the developer being a little lazy.
Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to send them back and buy iPads (not least of all because of the cost) but the wife has stipulated that if not working by mid-week she will order 2 of Apple's finest for the girls.
