Team Win Recovery Project 2.2

Team Win Recovery Project 2.2, or twrp2 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. We started from the ground up by taking AOSP recovery and loading it with the standard recovery options, then added a lot of our own features. It

I like the fact that you can compress nandroids. Good to have with no sd card.

I might give it a try tonight. I unrooted, locked and went back to stock last night just to see how it worked. Piece of cake with WugFresh's root kit.

how do you tell it to flash on the toolkit? and is it perminant?

To use the root kit, under Advanced Utilities select Launch. In the next window select Recovery. You can choose whatever recovery you want. I'm not sure if its permanent.

You can also use GooManager to flash TWRP. To make it permanent they say:

NOTE: The stock ROM may automatically replace TWRP with the stock recovery. To prevent the stock ROM from replacing TWRP, boot TWRP, go to the mount menu and mount system, press the home button, then press Advanced -> File Manager. Browse to /system and select the file named recovery-from-boot.p then choose to rename the file to recovery-from-boot.bak

Was thinking about it, but decided that I would stay with stock recovery after root so I could get the Google updates. That's why I dropped CWM.

Still might later though, depending on what it gives me.

If Amon Ra was out for the Nexus 7, I'd definitely go for that.

Flashable updates are out pretty fast after the OTA if you ever decide you want to use it.

First time I've tried TWRP and I love it. I don't think I'll ever go back to CWM.

Yep, I never did like CWM after if gave me problems on the HTC Rezound. Had to switch to Amon Ra and have never looked back. But the dev on that is pretty much leaving it lie so may have to go with TWRP on the Nexus for custom recov.

Have the Goo Man installed, letting it sit until I make up my mind.:):o
