Root TWRP external oddness? :/

hi guys,

this time when i did a backup i selected to save it directly to my external card rather than copy from internal afterwards.

..but when i ran backup in twrp after selecting external it seemed to be creating different files for each partition area, and then at end it said zero size saved etc :/

i checked in the external folder afterwards and there was a 3.8gb nandroid file there - is normally a bit bigger

...not too confident that this actually worked :/

cheers
dan

....oh, i did press the little icon in the middle/bottom of the twrp screen before i did it :/ seemed to re check partitions to backup - did i bugger it up?

the button seems to be this so assume isnt an issue
"That's the console or text output from the recovery"

thanks

It's not compressed the file has it hence why it is smaller? I know twrp has a compression option.

Why not delete that backup and try again?

hi
yeah think that is my plan.. was odd the way it seemed to do it in 3 separate sections :-\
cheers

I did a nandroid last night but when I check my files they are all separated. When I restored it later it allowed me to choose what parts of the nandroid to restore so it might be that :thumb:

oh right - cool thanks - must be a twrp thing then - never noticed it on internal backup
cheers

maybe ;)

...i think also because it was slower writing to external i actually stopped and read what it returned when it ran too

evening,

right just ran a new nand to internal and yes it does the 3 partition files as it did to external ..... but this time it said backed up 364 files, and to external it said zero! :/
....which im guessing cant be good :D
