Help TWRP internal storage 0MB. how to fix?

LG L90 phone. I noticed twrp showing internal storage as 0mb

it says
Storage: sdcard (0 MB)

There is no external sd card plugged in.

I seem to be able to browse the system if i go to /data/media/0/....

But this 0mb is definitely not right.

TWRP log says E: unable to mount /sdcard during GUI startup
unable to mount storage.

I should add that I installed CM13 before, and now I reflashed to stock LG rom.
TWRP version 2.7.1.0

Are you encrypted? If so, that could be the issue.

I was encrypted when I was using cm13. Encrypted is the default mode for CM13, right?

And then I flashed the stock rom right over it. I think i may have skipped a few steps before flashing stock rom.
and now i just keep getting "unable to mount storage" errors in the log.

So how do i solve this encryption problem now that I am using the stock lollipop rom?

Check to see whether there's an updated version of TWRP, as that might work with encryption.

Otherwise, you can unencrypt, but I believe that clears your phone data.

What are you using TWRP for? I have a Nexus 6P which is encrypted, but I can still use TWRP to flash ROMs and such.

how do i unencrypt? just wipe every partition?
I just tried wiping everything, and it gives me "Failed. unable to mount storage"

i use twrp to install scripts and other stuff.

When you say you flashed the stock ROM, was this a twrp flashable stock ROM by a third party developer? Or did you use LG Flash Tools, or similar, and flash the entire stock firmware to the device after which, you reflashed twrp?

i was on cm13.

then i think i did a twrp wipe. Then used lg flash tools to restore stock rom.

Anyway, I did a complete wipe just now, checked every box to wipe, ignored the error.
reflashed stock rom once again, installed twrp 3.xxxx, and all seems to be ok again.
Twrp can see my 3.x gb of storage now.
no 0mb error

i was curious and downgraded twrp to 2.7.xxx again, and it still can't see my internal storage.
it only sees my external sd card.

I just wiped my whole phone, bone stock LG lollipop, so if twrp 3.xxx can see my internal storage, but twrp 2.7.xxx can't.... what does that mean?

There may have been changes as the stock OS updated that rendered older twrp versions broken, not sure. Or whoever built the 2.x version didn't do it right in the first place perhaps. Generally speaking, try to use the latest twrp version which it sounds like you're doing now.

I think I may still have been on the right track; TWRP 2.x can't handle encrypted data but 3.x can.

Or I could be entirely wrong.

Not that it matters now, but you can set encryption in the phone's settings menu.
