Root TWRP recovery for zte avid

Nice job dadcup. Looks really good. I'm still playing with it but I love the layout. Kudos and pimp juice to you.
 
Not sure why, but my timezone isn't working. I set it for Pacific time zone but it displays a time that's 5 1/2 hours fast, which has me living somewhere in the mid-Atlantic ocean :)
 
I was having problems trying to install a custom recovery with the code in the stickied threads, but this code allowed me to install twrp and cwm, thanks a bunch!!
 
Hey I Own This phone myself... I got mad love for this phone, but I really do want a stable way to get this sucker to use CWM and TWRP, So i can start scripting it with Fly-On Mod +Supercharger v6.. Yeah I'm rooted of course... Keep me posted.. My Gmail is on sync.. Ill get ya replys,.. Ill personally test em.. XD.. Soft brick is a joke..
 
hey everybody, ive had some trouble trying to flash a new rom for my avid, it keeps telling me that there unable to mount cache. what should i do i really need help
 
How to flash : dd if=/sdcard/recovery3.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 bs=4094

Every time I try this it tells me unknown operand 16. What am I doing wrong?
 
I found a way to flash this using fastboot. Put the downloaded image file into the fastboot folder and type fastboot flash recovery name of file. img
 
Little late but you did an excellent job for some reason I could not flash this for the life of me I used rOM Toolbox pro in finally figured out how to do it excellent job dadcup
 
Every time I type in the command

dd if=/sdcard/recovery3.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 bs=4094

Into a terminal emulator, I get a permission denied message.

What do I do?

I know I'm really late and you've probably figured this out by now, You have to type su before typing this command...

What's the difference, I have twrp on my kindle fire first gen and cwm6.0.4.8 on my avid, does it do the same task, would it work better?

Most things cwm can flash. Twrp can flash certain things, right now we can't flash cm11 if it was ever made because of twrp being at a later version. That's not just us though that's for everyone. Twrp had to update to a newer version so it could flash cm11 on any device. So... Basically right now its your preference lol, I honestly would rather stick to twrp for me because I don't need all those other fancy options and such.

Oh Ok, I tried twrp earlier, I like it but think I'll stick with cwm

My deal was I was on philz touch recovery and it had way to many tweaks and settings to it, ya it was nice at first but soon it just kinda became a hassle to deal with and for some reason all my setting kept getting reset and I actually ended up setting the brightness way to low to where the screen was completely black and I couldn't see anything. I just said screw it and flashed twrp back onto my phone lol.

Can you make a twrp backup of the phone's system for me because I didn't make one and am stuck in recovery mode
