Root TWRP taking up a lot of storage

Hi.
So i have been flashing ROMs via GooManager lately. Am quite addicted.
Been using Liquidsmooth ROM for a while. I then flashed Paranoid, Carbon, back to Liquid. Yesterday I tried XenonHD. Again, ended going back to Liquidsmooth.
For each flash, I wiped everything. All flashes went perfect. Then I restored my apps back using Titanium.
Today, for some reason I checked my storage situation.
TWRP is using 5.04 GB out of my usable 12.92 GB. Is that necessary?
Is there anything I can do to free up storage?
All other apps/music/pictures/videos is only using up 5 GB or so. I am still learning all this so I am a little puzzled on what I can do.

Any ideas?

Thank you

If you are using Google Play Music you may need to delete data before making a nandroid. Case in point, the last time I made a nandroid backup it was 5GB in size! When I checked how much data Google Play Music was using, it was more than a gig. So before each nandroid, I delete data from the settings-->apps menu. The downside to this is that you lose any albums you might have added to you library and will have to add each one back.

One other place to look to clear up space is your app backups. I use Titanium Backup. My backup folder is about a gig as well. However, I keep my backups.

Hope that helps.

Lol. I had 6 nandroid backups. I Flashed three ROMS in one day and I guess i didn't realize I made a nandroid each time. Just cleared up a ton of space.

Oh, and I don't use Play Music so I'm good there.

You guys ROCK!

Thanks

Jmar, I assume you pin your music for offline listening. In that case, you would have to re-download everything and what a pain!

I just stream my collection, nothing pinned, and STILL Play Music exceeds a Gig after awhile! I have no idea what it's doing! Since all I do is stream, I just clear cache & data, log back in to Play Music, everything re-populates by itself, and then make my nandroid.

I know it's a bit of a procedure, but it's really easy, takes little time at all, and reduced my nandroids from 3 GB to about half that. Smaller nandroids = faster restores.
