Thanks, is there anything I need to make sure of before I flash it?

Based on the http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/663486-twrp-2-3-htc-evo-3d.html thread you may get some errors using the ENG 1.04 hboot with the latest version of TWRP2. I don't know if those errors will affect anything else or not, but my preference is 4EXT when using the engineering bootloader and flashing AOSP based ROM's.

Doesn't 4EXT cost money?
It's $3 in the Play Store for the Recovery Control version, which is well worth it, but if that's a problem for you just download the Recovery Updater version from 4EXT Development and use that to install and update the same 4EXT recovery. You will also have access to the advanced features of the Recovery Control app for three days to decide whether or not to upgrade or just stay with the free version.

4EXT is probably the best recovery I've used. Though when TWRP touch came out back on my Triumph...that was pretty sweet...

Isn't 4ext faster too?
It is for me, at least for the basic operations.

One thing that might be faster on TWRP is the backups and they definitely take less space on the SD card because they are compressed, where 4EXT backups are only tar archives. Max (madmaxx82) has indicated that the major upgrade of 4EXT that is currently a WIP will have compression for the backups, at least as an option.
