Help Txt message retrieval

[Android Question]

I am having issues with my Galaxy s 7 edge. It started suddenly with a blue horizontal line going up and down my screen, after I try to do anything (and also bings). I am unable to turn the phone off, do anything on the screen, etc., including look at my text messages.
I pretty much know that I have to take my phone to my carrier for that problem, unfortunately, but wondering if there is anyway to access my text messages from another device.

If you have a Samsung Account and the phone was signed in on it and if you were using the Samsung SMS application you could check there or
If you had Verizon as your carrier and had Backup Assistant syncing then you could possibly restore them.
