Typical "I need a new phone" thread.

As the title said, I need a new smartphone (android much preferred) but I can't decide on which phone to get, and I'm not very experienced with it either.

My current phone is the Galaxy Note, I love it. It's been good and comfortable to me for almost a year now, but I feel like it's time to change. I really like the size of the screen on the Note, it was the main reason that I got it for, but sadly the battery really kills it. There's overheating, too. It overheats and burns battery instantly after I open almost any app.

The thing I liked most about the phone was browsing. I LOVED browsing on this thing, especially since it has a big screen.

So, that's my experience with the Note. I want a phone with a screen that wouldn't feel like a downgrade from the Note's 5.3", yet I want it to easy slip in my pocket. Something like 4-4.3" screen would be perfect, I assume. I want it mainly for browsing and some games, so I'd like it to have a strong battery that would last me at least through 3/4 of day.

To sum it up, I want the phone to be able to make me browse and play almost any game smoothly.

I've been told to wait for the Galaxy SIV announcement, which I assume is soon, but I dunno. What are your thoughts ?

Edit: I should have mentioned that I don't plan on rooting - I just use my phone for casual browsing and social networking, sometimes for games, too.

Depending on what carrier you have the Note on, I would suggest the LG Nexus 4 if it is a GSM carrier (ATT & T-Mobile.) It is a phone directly supported by Google which means you will never be using outdated software. Also if you plan on rooting, it is one of the easiest phones to Root. You will pay a little more because I think you still have to buyt it off contract, but it's worth it.
