Look in /media - that's where I see it in CentOS 6. I have not tried to move files around, just sometimes use the USB to charge it and noticed the Samsung mount in /media
My guess is you will get more/better answers on the Ubuntu forums. Specify which Ubuntu 11 - Ubuntu does two releases every year, 11.04 is April 2011 and 11.10 is October 2011. The 11 just means it's a 2011 release, which 2011 release may matter when they answer your question.
