Help UC BROWSER (built in) VIRUS??

I've been using the Lenovo Vibe Shot since Christmas..
now, 3 days ago, the built in UC Browser (I didn't install and it cannot be removed or disabled) has started opening on its own every 5 minutes or so

I've never used it, it took some work to find out it was the UC Browser as the name is suspiciously not shown anywhere

if I lock my screen, when I open it it ALWAYS pops up straight away, if I'm using the phone, it's usually every 5 minutes or so

I factory reset my phone, still happening

I've not clicked anything I shouldn't have

I've not installed any dodgy apps lately either

I'm not confident installing a custom rom (tbh I can't even find a custom rom for this phone OR an installation guide)

Re-flash the firmware if you can. How you actually do that on this Lenovo,..dunno...can you read Chinese?

I've rooted a couple of phones in the past, but that was years ago, I'd like to get this sorted, it's the most annoying thing I've ever encountered on a phone
