Root udpate request

I just re-flashed the Ultra ROM on my wife's tu and now she's getting the system update request even though shes already running 2.3.6 with the fc29 baseband. I'm wondering if I should do the protect root and then let the update go through. Any thoughts?
 
An OTA update will fail because of CWM. You'll just have to ignore it for now, or flash everything back to stock. But, if you do flash everything back to stock, the OTA update might go away which means you just wasted your time. I would hold off for now and see what happens. The update probably just fixes the wifi bug, and could create new ones.
 
Never accept an OTA, especially if rooted until others have posted on what it does and probably more importantly what it doesn't do.
 
OK so I unrooted my phone and went BA k to stock. I have gotten no update request so far, but I'm still on fc29 not ff27. Guess I'm just gonna be patient. When I did the rooted update offered here I ended up with all kinds of problems. Didn't know what to do so I said fook it and reverted to total stock status.

I just downloaded autostarts and was wondering what setting control whether I get the ota's?

hold on I'll check it I forget..brb

okay so open the app and select "after startup" then scroll down and you will see four googleserviceframework options...select the third one down from the top or very first googleserviceframework..select the third one and open it..it will be called something like system.update.service.receiver...disable it ..exit and reboot and your good
