Help UK Galaxy S on US T-Mobile?

I know this info was on another thread but some said it would work, some said it wouldn't... and the thread wasn't specifically about this exact topic.

what elchingon666 said X2

and to further confuse you (and everybody) the FCC certification that engadget recently posted, doesn't show 1700 on the spec sheet, but without 1700 for upload, the network will limit your phone to EDGE speeds

but the one from boy genius report says 1700 - 1900 bands.. well that is for the tmobile USA version..

if the phone has 1700 band, then it should work in the US.. i believe..

Thanks guys.

I was getting conflicting info. Different sites had the GSM bands for the phone listed differently. Some had the phone as being a 5 band phone which would put it on all carriers, I thought.

:-(

no early galaxy for me.

If it states AWS it is compatible with tmobile 3G and there is a site but that is pre order and for $800

In USA we call that expensive.

It is expensive but if you are paying $20 extra a month on T-Mobile for "in contract" pricing and you pay $200 up front for the phone your true cost is $680. So... Its not a whole lot more than that.
