Is anyone familiar with TMo's UMA service?

If not, it's basically being able to get on the network via your WiFi radio as opposed to your network radio.

If so, is that possible on any network (mainly Vzw), or is it just TMo? I ask because I've not owned a WiFi capable device since I've been with verizon.

When I had tmobile I used to connect my BB to my router via UMA. it was like having my own personal mini tower right next to me. I went from having 1 to 2 bars to full bars in my basement. it would be great if verizon could do this for people who dont get good signals in their homes.

vz has a network extender which basically is a wifi access point that uses your internet connection.. the suck a$$ part is that it will still CONSUME YOUR PLAN MINUTES

Ouch. They don't have an option for unlimited minutes through your femtocell?

Sprints options are ok I guess.

$5 a month just for the boost

$30 a month for unlimited usage.

I think all femtocells should be like this:

FREE for just signal boost(still have to buy the cell though)

$10 a month first line $5 a month each additional for unlimited.

you should read up on what AT&T wants to charge to use their femtocell!

As far as I am concerned, AT&T should be giving those out to their customers for free.
there wad a great article about this on tested.com a couple days ago.
side note, got passed on the highway by a car today with kal-el on the vanity plate
