Umm... is the Hero supposed to be a multitasking device?

Root your phone, install custom Rom, delete Sprint crapware, install apps to card, and you will notice a much better and faster phone. Info to do all this is out there. And FYI, this site DOES have a mobile view right there at the bottom left. Have a nice day. All this typed really fast on my hero with all I mentioned above.

Holy cow!!!! Hahaha, I'm such a dummy, all I can say is WOW, I had no idea about that mobile switch on the bottom left, awesome... thank you so much, and for those who try it, you will see the difference when accessing a page set up for mobile use. Geat stuff.

Dvdqnoc - I understand and sympathize your plight, just not the continual beating of a dead horse. The fact that we sometimes Make decisions and stick with them (purchasing phone and not returning it) can't change the circumstances or lack of the equipment meeting our expectations later on. This is why within the 30 days its important to put your phone through the wringer and see if it meets your demands. I haven't done anything to my phone except turn off the keypad feedback. But I think we will all appreciate the device better either rooting it and removing the bloatware, or once the 2.0 update comes. Sprint has a lot riding on this, in spite of their agreements with Palm, etc.

Anyway, Happy Trails...

Man, Thanks for that great tip QuiQNeZZ about the mobile view ... I also have rooted, and created a nandroid backup...I will now install the custom rom, remove sprint crapware and see if there is any difference in speed :D

I concur, instead of complaining just fix it. There are alot of talented and smart folks/developers out there doing amazing things for ALL types of phones. That's what this forum and many others out there are for. Since the phone devs/manufacturers/carriers can't make the "perfect godly" phone we would all like, it's up to us to make things better.

With a little patience and reading one can do amazing things with their phones. And the best part is the sharing of information is made easier for us non too technical people by other more experienced or technical folks who "dumb" this down for us. And for that I give thanks for all the helpful folks out there.

No prob. And I suggest you starting from scratch. Do a complete wipe of your ROM then partition your SD card for the apps. Then just sync all your stuff back to your phone. Just remember to back up everything off your phone first. It makes a WORLD of difference.

LOL, nice!

a) I noticed the same issues immediately after system resets and after soft resets when nothing is running.
b) I reboot regularly (thought I shouldn't need to)
c) This is my third Hero, first one thats With Google, previous 2 only HTC symbol on the back had problems (all 3 had problems with multitasking)
d) Ive done factory resets before, didn't help

umm. try replying to this thread on your Hero via its browser and tell me there's no lag.

Virtual keyboard without autocorrect? That'll be just a bit difficult, don't you think? I can't sit there making sure to tap in the correct keys exactly for every single letter of every single sentence of every single text message I send every day of everyweek I use this phone...

well, u sure do have a chip on your shoulder for no reason, and judging by your responses to some of the other posts, it seems like ur just a kid who doesnt get out much..

Anyways, ive found that if you calibrate the keyboard, then it is actually very accurate, at least for me. i have little to no mistakes, and with the predictive text/auto complete turned off, the keyboard while using the browser is 10x better.
