Apparently these devices do come with pre-installed malware.

What you can do about that, or it's causing your issues, no ideas. Except maybe to exchange it for another device?

what happens when you try to delete the messages? error? nothing? there is no delete option? what messaging app are you using?

don't know about your device nor the program that it belongs to so i'm not sure how restrictive the android os is.

Time for a new phone, not provided by the government.....
