Help unable connect to wi fi

First off MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
Secondly i brought my partner a white galaxy ace and im having trouble with the net. I cant seem to get 3g activated. I have held in the side button and messed with the data network (i have and galaxy s2 so im not a noob with the galaxy's).

Also i have tried my wirless and i cant get that to accept my IP adress. It searches for ages and then gives up.

I have tried the staic ip addy and that does work and gets me "connected" but i still cant use google or any other webpages nor androide market.

The handset is on version 2.3.3

I've done the update to 2.3.5.
The SOD seems to be solved but know i've got this issue with the Wi-Fi, keeps "saying" "Error" when trying to connect to any network.
Solves one thing and ruins other. Damn Samsung.

Dialed the code, rebooted, still can not go on the Internet under wifi.

WTF?
