Help Unable to assign a song ringtone

Having trouble setting a ringtone from music player on my fascinate. Any suggestions? Also a big con to me is, no telephone keyboard option for texting...

I've tried setting a ringtone to a contact also and I have an individual contact to the phone and I don't get the option to set it as a ringtone. Either I have no clue or this phone is messed up!

You should be able to just play song then click menu key and in menu click use as ringtone
