Unable to connect to intranet sites

WildeKurt

Lurker
I can no longer connect to an intranet site on our companies network. This used to work (and still does from any PC) but if I try from my Android phone (a Huawei) or anyone elses Android phone, I get the message "Web page not available." I can't tell if this is a security thing or maybe a domain issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

most company networks issue updates to their network security, and some who use internet explorer have certain proxy's entered to have a much more secure entry to their network. this may be your issue, were you ever able to connect to it before?

I and anyone else with a smart phone was able to connect. I can connect to the WiFi and have access to internet sites, just not the two servers I've tried on the intranet. The server itself doesn't require authentication.

i think your company updated the scripts in the server which prevented outside access. its a thought, you need to contract your IS Administrator and find out, its not on your devices end, its on your network end

I am the IS Administrator for that server. There really isn't anything special about the page I'm calling. Just simple HTML for the most part. There may be some script inserted by IIS (done via ASP.NET). What would be there that is not compatable with the Android browser?

anything within the script can have an effect on the android browser, try an aftermarket browser like chrome beta, or miren, etc, etc, i do believe that a script could be the issue, but you were able to connect to it before so it is leaving a likely trail that your server has updated itself somehow that you probably arent made aware of yet, a simple windows update, or maybe the authentication process for the phone to the server has been reset, and needs to be reconfigured, im uncertain on how you were able to connect to it before.
