Root unable to d/l apps after partitioning sd card

I have partitioned my SD card using Gparted live cd, I haven't install any Rom yet, I am still looking for the right one.
Now I can't install or update any apps from Market.
is this normal? Error msg I got says Unable to find internal or SD card storage.

Did you partition the card correctly? i.e EXT After FAT32?

Can you see the SD card in a PC. Can you browse it using a file manager? What does it say i teh sd card and storage menu? Is the SD card mounted correctly?

I cleared out the Market data and download an apps. It still said Installation Error: Couldn't install on USB Storage or SD Card

I dont know on that one. I would run it through gparted again personally, formatting both FAT and ext

You've probably already tried this, but I had to reboot my phone after using GParted, before the phone would see the FAT partition.

The phone should have been in recovery when it was partitioned anyway.

If not, definitely reboot. In fact reboot never hurts

I believe you should be in recovery and mount drive when you partition.

Yes from SU's guide
3) Connect your device in Recovery mode and mount as USB mass storage
